COVID UPDATE:
The camp has been altered to allow for more space in the campfire area, mud kitchen and other activity spaces. There are three points for hand sanitising and a hand washing area.
It is your responsibility that upon arrival, you and everyone in your group use the hand sanitiser at the entrance of Little Forest Adventures and then also at the points in camp. (Please be aware that the hand sanitiser provided is alcohol free to ensure safety when using the campfire). The activities are well spaced out, so it is your responsibility to follow social distancing guidelines at all times.
Forest School kits are available to purchase to minimise the handling of LFA equipment provided. These can be purchased prior to or during a session. No cash purchases. Please label all your items. LFA equipment will be sanitised prior to each session.
Food and drinks will still be provided, but will now be served to minimise handling.
Please do not attend a session if you or anyone within your household are displaying signs or symptoms of Coronavirus. If you or anyone in your household have a confirmed case of Coronavirus, please notify Little Forest Adventures and follow the isolation guidelines before returning to sessions.
If any member of staff or anyone within their household shows signs or symptoms of Coronavirus they will not attend the session. If a member or staff or anyone within their household have a confirmed case of Coronavirus, they will follow the isolation guidelines before returning. If the Level 3 Forest School Leader or anyone in their household either shows signs or has confirmed Coronavirus, the session will be cancelled.
The contact details provided in your booking will be used to notify you in the event of anyone receiving a confirmation of Coronavirus who attended the same session as you. It is your responsibility to ensure we are notified if you or anyone in your household has a confirmed case of Coronavirus. We are not signed up to the test and trace system.
ATTENDANCE AT SITE:
Your child’s attendance at a Little Forest Adventures session is contingent upon them having a parent or carer in attendance with them. Unless otherwise specified (for example – Family Forest School sessions during school holidays), children attending our sessions must be aged between 0-4 years and 11 months old. It is your responsibility to give us your child’s correct age during the booking process.
BEHAVIOUR:
We encourage positive behaviour from all who attend the sessions (children and adults). In the (very unlikely) event that someone behaves in some way that we cannot deal with, we will ask you to leave the session. We also reserve the right to prohibit the individual from future sessions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
From the time you arrive at site to the time you leave, the children remain the responsibility of the adult in attendance with them. The Forest School Leader is responsible for the safe running of the session and will be required to remain by the campfire once it is lit.
The forest is shared with other companies. Adults and children are prohibited to enter or climb on any equipment not belonging to Little Forest Adventures.
Site and Risk Assessments are regularly carried out on the Little Forest Adventures site. Your session will be spent within a woodland environment, this will involve uneven ground, trip hazards, low hanging branches and changes within the forest from flora and fauna. It is your responsibility to be aware of these and navigate around these hazards accordingly.
CLOTHING:
The Scandinavians have right: “No such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes”. Children AND adults turning up in the wrong clothing is the biggest problem we have! Having the right clothes and shoes can make the difference between having a great time or being miserable. It is up to you to make sure you come properly equipped for the conditions on the day. Please see these guidelines:
Long sleeves and trousers: These will keep arms and legs safe from scratches, nettles and insect bites, not to mention the cold. The forest remains cool even during the hottest weather.
Waterproofs:(As the weather dictates). Both trousers and top, particularly in winter and spring months. Remember that these are usually just a thin layer and on colder days warm layers underneath are essential.
Warm clothes (including gloves and hats): These are essential during winter months. Several layers of clothes are better than one thick jumper.
Sturdy trainers or boots: Whilst the site remains relatively dry during wet weather, the walk to site can get very muddy. We also have water play during the sessions.
Whatever you wear, make sure it is something that you don’t mind getting dirty or torn. Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for torn or dirty clothing.
TOILETS:
There is a toilet located in the main car park and one on the site. Please take time to read the instructions on how to use the toilet on site properly! You are welcome to bring a potty to the session if required. Any nappies that are changed during the session must be taken away at the end by the parent / carer.
DATA PROTECTION:
Our handling of all information provided to us will comply with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not sell or disclose your personal details to any other agencies. We will not contact you other than about Little Forest Adventures activities.
FOOD:
We will provide a drink and snack during the session. Please notify Little Forest Adventures of any dietary requirements or allergies at the time of booking. Food must only be consumed in the designated areas. Children must be supervised at all times. Please note that marshmallows are a choking hazard so we limit these to one per child at a time if an adult is not present at the time.
ILLNESS:
Please ensure that anyone in attendance is well enough to join in our activities. In particular, if your child has a fever or has suffered from vomiting or diarrhoea within 48 hours then please tell us. If an attendee becomes ill with any of these symptoms during a session, we will expect you to make arrangements to go home. PLEASE SEE COVID RULES IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR GROUP ARE DISPLAYING SYMPTOMS.
LOST OR DAMAGED PROPERTY:
We do try to repatriate any lost property at the end of every session. However it is your responsibility to ensure that you leave with everything you arrived with. If you later discover that something has been left behind, please contact us and every effort will be made to find it. Please be advised that the forest is a large space and we are not always on site, so finding lost items may take time. We do not offer replacements or compensation for lost items. Site assessments are made at the start of every session and we are not responsible for any damage to property.
It is easy for a child to forget and go home with an item in their pocket that belongs to Little Forest Adventures. Please ensure that in the event of this happening, the item is returned or replaced as soon as possible.
CAR PARK:
Cars are parked at the owners risk. Please do not leave any valuables on display. Please park considerately and be aware of other users on the tracks and in the car parks. There is a 2mph limit on the track.
MEDICATION AND MEDICAL INFORMATION:
The Forest School Leader holds a current outdoor first aid certificate, specialising in first aid for Forest School including paediatrics. However it is up to you to ensure that we have up to date information for both the adult and child in attendance. If your child requires medication during a session, it is your responsibility to administer it. Please apply sun lotion and insect repellent before the start of a session.
Any information you give us will be treated in strict confidence and will not prejudice the inclusion of any attendee in any activity.
PHOTOGRAPHS:
With your permission, photographs and video footage may be taken of the children during the activities by the Forest School Leader. This is solely for promotional purposes i.e. on social media, website and printed media such as flyers. Only the image will be used and no names given. During the sessions you are permitted to take photos of your own child, avoiding any other children in the background. Please seek permission from adults responsible if other children appear in your photos.
PAYMENT:
This should be made in full by online payment to the bank details provided on your invoice at the time of booking. Spaces are not confirmed until payment is received.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS:
If you are booked on to a session that you are no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. We will provide an alternative session wherever possible. Refunds will not be given for non-attendance that has not been notified.
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a session, an alternative session will be provided or refunds given. This will only happen in the event of extreme weather conditions, lack of take up, or other events beyond our control. Please ensure we have an up to date email address and phone number so that we can contact you at the earliest opportunity to advise of any changes.
WEATHER:
Weather can cause havoc! We will endeavour to run our sessions whatever the weather, however we will not go ahead in winds higher than 20mph or lightening. If the weather effects travel and drivers are advised to remain at home, we will make the decision to cancel to ensure the safety of all. If any of these conditions arise, unpredicted, during a session we will evacuate the site immediately. We do not offer refunds or days in lieu for cancellations that develop during the session.
